Do you love to sing? Do you write poetry or lyrics? Want to learn how to write your own hit songs? Join award winning singer-songwriters Mikaela and Jordan Burchill to develop your songwriting skills!
Make new friends.
During this 5-day camp you will learn about songwriting fundamentals, creative storytelling, melody development, music theory, and what makes a great song. You will also be paired with other budding songwriters to create your very own songs together!
Final Performance.
The camp culminates with a performance for friends and family and a recording of your very own song to take home!
Private coaching.
Learn how to perfect your vocal technique with Mikaela or polish your guitar skills with Jordan! One-on-one sessions are first come first serve and will take place in the mornings before camp.

Who is Beth // James?
Mikaela and Jordan formed their indie-folk group in 2015 and perform in Texas, and all around the country. Their EP’s “All in Life” and “Falling” have received national acclaim, and their original song “Lion Eyes” was featured in Spike Lee’s Academy Award-Winning film, “BlacKkKlansman”.
They taught their first songwriting camp together in 2015 and look forward to doing it for many more years!
About Mikaela
Mikaela is an award-winning songwriter and vocalist. She has sung on over 40 albums, commercials, and short films, is a sought after vocalist, has sung backgrounds for artists like Chrisette Michelle and Ben Folds. Mikaela graduated with a B.M. in vocal jazz from the University of North Texas and is a full-time musician.
Growing up in Seattle, she performed with the Island Choral Experience throughout her childhood and teenage years, and still records music for their shows.
Mikaela’s lessons can involve any combination of voice, songwriting, performance, and general musicality. “I hand tailor my lessons to the student’s individual needs and goals. My number one priority is to make sure my students are always having fun while building confidence and learning important musical (and life) skills.”
About Jordan
Jordan is a guitarist, vocalist, and award-winning songwriter. He graduated with a B.M. in jazz guitar from the University of North Texas and is a full-time musician.
Jordan has written over 100 songs and has won multiple awards for his songwriting, arranging, and performances. He has toured the US with his own bands, and toured as a guitarist for Grammy award-winning and platinum recording artists like Avant and Ndambi.
His main teaching goals are to teach kids how to understand music and write catchy choruses - but most of all he wants his students to be creative and have fun!
